          The type of cross the in-possession player has chosen to utilise. A player’s choice may be influenced by their own location and the positions of the other players on the field of play.

          Inswinging

          A ball that is played from any crossing zone with a trajectory that curves towards the goal.

          Outswinging

          A ball that is played from any crossing zone with a trajectory that curves away from the goal.

          Driven

          A ball that is played from any crossing zone and delivered with speed and power, whether on the ground or in the air. This type of cross tends to be delivered with a straight trajectory.

          Lofted

          A ball that is played from any crossing zone and floated into the penalty area. This type of delivery has a high, looping trajectory and usually targets the back post.

          Cut-back

          A ball that is played diagonally backwards from any crossing zone, from close to the byline, and is aimed at a team-mate inside the penalty area.

          Push cross

          A ball that is played from any crossing zone using the inside or outside of the foot, delivered with moderate pace but with a degree of intention and accuracy.
