In 2015, she became the first woman to manage a men’s professional team in the Hong Kong Premier League, when she was appointed by Eastern. In 2016 her team won the Championship and in 2017 she became the first woman to take charge of a team in a top-flight continental competition in the AFC Champions League.
She was named AFC Women’s Coach of the Year in 2016. She also has a Master’s degree in Sports Science.
Ting was a Technical Study Group (TSG) member for AFC’s Women’s Asian Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Play-off Tournament 2023. She also attended the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ on behalf of the China Football Association.
Her vast experience and wealth of knowledge will be a great asset to FIFA's TSG in Australia and New Zealand, and she is looking forward to observing and analysing many facets of the tournament as it unfolds.
“The modern women’s game is evolving at an incredible rate, and I am looking forward to seeing what trends emerge from this tournament”, she said. “The speed of the game is increasing so much, and this will be a strong feature during this tournament.
“Also, I am interested in the tactical mindsets of the competing teams. In addition, I want to see how the Asian teams perform and how their performances compare with those of the top teams in the world,” she explained.
Ting will be based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
