Clémentine Touré is a former player and head coach of the Ivory Coast. She scored 22 goals in 26 appearances for her country before moving into a coaching career.

In 2005, she led Amazones to the honour of being Côte d'Ivoire champions before winning the Côte d'Ivoire Federation Cup the following year.

A subsequent successful coaching term in Equatorial Guinea led to her being appointed as manager of the national women’s team. In 2008, her side were crowned African Cup of Nations champions. In 2010, she became head coach of her native Ivory Coast, leading them to qualify for FIFA World Cup Canada 2015, their first ever World Cup.

Touré brings a wealth of experience to the FIFA Technical Study Group, both as a former player and as a coach. She is keen to see how the women’s game has developed since 2019 Women’s World Cup.

“Some of the key trends that were noted from the 2019 competition in France were the influence of goalkeepers on their team’s performance, the quality of crosses and the improvement in the women’s heading game. During that competition we also saw how the speed of the game had increased, not just in how fast the players moved, but also in the speed at which they moved the ball.

“The technique of the players is getting better all the time and we also saw the impact of wide players and how important they were to their team’s attacking play. I am really interested to see if these elements have progressed again but also very interested to see what new trends emerge.

“It will be great also to see more teams competing in this tournament because it means more players are getting the exposure to playing in a world cup and this is very important for their development and the development of players in their countries.

Touré is based in Brisbane where she will attend all games scheduled for that city.
